| Description: | SANTA FE TRAIL CELEBRATION: JUNE 11, 12, 13, 2010 The Wagons are coming! Santa Fe Trail Interpretive Park Cimarron, New Mexico is celebrating the opening of our new Santa Fe Trail Interpretive Park. Join in the fun with trappers, traders, the Jicarilla Apache Nation, military units from Fort Union, scouts and other historical interpreters as we enjoy a 3 day festival of activities. Some of the celebration includes: the arrival of a wagon train, arts and crafts booths, period music in the park, historical activities for children, historical tours, western artists, dinner on Saturday, and a period church service Sunday morning. Schedule of Events (subject to change) Thursday and Friday: Santa Fe Trail Themed Art Show and Sale Friday Night: Wagon train arrives at Philmont Scout Ranch; Campout at the Historic Old Town Plaza in Cimarron with demonstrations of Santa Fe Trail period living history Saturday Morning: Wagon train arrives in Cimarron; Opening Ceremony Saturday all day: Booths in Cimarron Village Park; Historic Tours; Docents on site of Santa Fe Trail Crossings Saturday Night: Chuckwagon Dinner at the Catholic Parish Hall; Silent Auction Sunday Morning: Santa Fe Trail Church in the Village Park | |||
